Legal & policies
Visit-Pena.com is an independent online booking service for the Park and National Palace of Pena in Sintra, Portugal. We are not the official website of the venue, and we are not affiliated with Parques de Sintra – Monte da Lua, S.A., the official operator of the monument. Tickets can also be purchased directly from the official operator at parquesdesintra.pt.
This page contains our Terms & Conditions, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
1. Who we are
The website visit-pena.com is operated by:

2. Terms & Conditions of Sale
2.1 Our role — booking intermediary
Visit-Pena.com acts solely as an intermediary booking service. When you place an order on this website, you mandate us to procure, on your behalf, official timed-entry tickets for the Park and National Palace of Pena from official suppliers or authorised distributors, at the applicable standard price.
The operation, management, access conditions and on-site organisation of the Park and National Palace of Pena remain the exclusive responsibility of its official operator. All operational rules, safety requirements and visitor regulations are determined and enforced by the venue operator and must be respected by all visitors.
2.2 Prices and service fees
The total price displayed at checkout includes the face value of the ticket and our service fee for arranging, processing and managing your booking. The total price is always shown before you confirm payment. In many cases, tickets are also available for direct purchase from the official operator without using our intermediary service, and we advise customers to consider all available purchasing options before completing an order.
2.3 Booking process and delivery
Bookings are made subject to availability provided by official suppliers. Once your booking is confirmed and payment has been processed, your e-ticket is sent to the email address provided at checkout. Presenting the e-ticket on a mobile device is sufficient; printing is not required. It is your responsibility to provide a valid email address and to check your inbox (including spam folders) before your visit. If you have not received your ticket within [X hours] of booking, contact us at info@visit-pena.com.
2.4 Time slots and access conditions
For tickets including access to the interior of the Palace of Pena, the entry time slot indicated on the ticket is strictly enforced by the venue operator. Admission to the palace interior is only permitted within the designated time slot; early or late arrival may result in denied entry without refund. The time slot applies to the palace entrance at the top of the hill, not the park gate: please allow at least 30–40 minutes to walk up through the park, in addition to your travel time to Sintra.
For Park-only tickets, the time selected during booking is indicative and used for reservation management purposes only; the ticket is valid throughout the day of the selected date.
We strongly recommend arriving at the park entrance well ahead of your scheduled palace entry time.
2.5 Cancellation, refunds and right of withdrawal
Please see our Refund Policy in section 3 below.
2.6 Liability
Our liability is limited to the correct performance of the booking service described above. We cannot be held liable for circumstances attributable to the venue operator (including closures, capacity restrictions, on-site queues or security checks), to third-party transport services, or to events of force majeure. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
2.7 Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by USA law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you reside. In accordance with EU law, consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Before any legal action, we invite you to contact us at info@visit-pena.com to seek an amicable solution.
3. Refund Policy
Tickets are date- and time-specific and are final once confirmed. In accordance with Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU (transposed in France in Article L221-28 of the Consumer Code), the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to leisure services to be provided on a specific date, which includes timed-entry tickets to visitor attractions.
Consequently:
- Tickets cannot be cancelled, refunded or exchanged after purchase, including in case of late arrival, no-show, or missed time slot.
- If the venue operator cancels or materially modifies your visit (for example, full closure of the monument on your visit date), we will pass on to you any refund or rebooking option granted by the supplier, without additional fees on our part.
- If we are unable to secure the tickets you ordered, you will be informed as soon as possible and receive a full refund of all sums paid.
Refunds, where applicable, are issued to the original payment method. Please verify all booking details (date, time slot, ticket types, number of visitors, email address) carefully before confirming your order.
